Description: High style two piece Renaissance Revival walnut Victorian bedroom suite. Both bed and dresser have an arch crest with a large carved cartouche in the middle, shaped raised burled panels, and carvings on the ends. The center cartouche on the headboard has some minor restoration (see photo). A similar lovely raised satinwood faced panel with incised carvings on each side, adorns the curved footboard, each side rail, and the front of each of the graduated drawers. The head board has an arched burled panel in the middle and a carved finial on each side post. The rails have super high returns on the end that meets the headboard. The dresser has raised burled panels, carvings and candle cups on each side of the original mirror. The mirror has the "diamond dust" - a charming feature of an old mirror. Two small jewelry drawers attach to the mirror and sit on top of the original white marble. The top drawer of the chest has a birds eye maple divided interior (see photo) - a sure sign of quality! There is a secret drawer in the base. This suite retains most of the original gilt decoration that truly enhances its' beauty.
