Description: Magnificent two piece walnut Renaissance Revival Victorian bedroom suite consisting of full size bed and matching princess dresser. The matching massive crests feature raised shaped burled panels, carvings, and an arch at the top. There is a carved column on each side. The headboard has a large recessed book matched burled panel in the middle and a carved finial on each side post. There are three recessed burled panels on the foot board. The posts on the foot board are square shaped with raised burled panels and carvings. The side rails have very impressive high carved returns on the head board end (see photo). At 56"W x 74.5"L between the rails you have a bit of extra space to make the bed once the full size 54" x 74" box spring and mattress are installed. The princess dresser has a wonderful large dressing mirror in the middle. The mirror itself was replaced in 1968. There is a shaped candle holder on each side embellished with carvings and burl both above and below. There are three small drawers on either side with a gorgeous raised burl panel on top and raised burled drawer fronts. The fancy brass bar pulls are original. An original white marble with rounded corners sits on the top of the base. The base has a secret drawer underneath the long drawer with the pulls (see photo). There is a very small piece of molding missing on one side at the back next to the mirror, which is very hard to notice. The stunning use of burled panels makes this one of the prettiest of suites! The princess format with large mirror makes the dresser a very useful piece to have in the bedroom!
