Description: Exceptional Victorian French styled curio cabinet attributed to R.J. Horner, NYC. It has a full bombeyed shape with original glass, mirrored back, and two glass shelves. There is an open brass fancy pediment on the top with a painting of three cherubs underneath. The entire cabinet is painted with floral and scenic designs. The legs, door, and glasses are all framed by a delicate brass trim. The number "1347" is found on two places on the back (see photo) - both stenciled and incised. The way this is done points to the Horner attribution. We have the original fancy dolphin brass key. Horner made a number of extra fine grade pieces in the French style towards the end of the nineteenth century. This is a wonderful example exhibiting great quality through the shape, paintings, and brass work!
