Description: Gorgeous high style Rococo Victorian walnut slant lid
secretary. The top has an interesting curved shape with an ornate carving
in the middle. The top section features an original mirror with a lovely
shaped carved border and very attractive "glitter" from diamond dusting of
the original silvering. The top interior has three original shelves. The
cut corners have detailed carvings, including a rose, on the top and base.
There are two small drawers on either side of the base with a larger drawer
in the middle. The drawer interiors along with the interior of the top are
ALL made out of a vibrant birdseye maple. This stunning feature is a
testament to the extra care and craftsmanship the cabinet maker took in
making this piece. We had a new leather surface put on the the pullout
writing tablet. The desk is supported by four graceful carved cabriole
legs. We have a key that works the top door lock and another key can also
be used to help open the other five drawers. A magnificent fine quality
desk that shows its' beauty both open and closed!
