Description: Fantastic Philadelphia Chippendale style Centennial solid quartered oak tall chest. The original beveled mirror (some normal silver loss) has a shaped top. The fluted supports have flame finials and fancy cast brass screw keys to hold the mirror to the harp. The base of the mirror has a decorative oak railing with fancy brass turned spindles. The top and base have a gorgeous gadrooned carved edge. There are fluted three quarter columns on each side of the case. The front of the chest has a blocked front shape and the top drawer has classic Chippendale style raised and recessed shell carvings. The secondary wood on the drawers is also oak. The drawers all have the original cast brass period hardware. There are ball in claw carved feet on both front and back. The castors have been replaced. The chest exhibits great tiger oak grain throughout. A spectacular piece for the sophisticated collector of oak or rare pieces of centennial furniture!
