Description: Gorgeous refinished quartered oak "S" rolltop desk with fabulous full drawer interior. The desk has raised and beveled panels on the sides, back, and interior of the knee hole. It has a high "S" roll with lock and working key. There is a very slight separation in the canvas of the roll - this is only noticeable when one actively is rolling the desk up or down. The interior has four curved drawers in addition to a number of drawers of different sizes and several vertical file slots. There is a pencil holder on each side of the middle opening along with a letter slot in the back. When the roll is down, there is a slot on either side for the secretary to slip letters in. There are four drawers on the left side, a middle drawer, and three drawers on the right side - the bottom which is double size is for files. Each of the drawers has an ornate carved pull. A pull out writing tablet is on each side just below the desk surface. There is a label under the top drawer (see photo) showing the desk was from "Hersee & Co, Buffalo, NY." Notice the spectacular tiger grain on every part of this fine desk.
