Description: Beautiful solid mahogany partners desk attributed to R.J.
Horner, NYC. There is a gadrooned molding surrounding the top. A writing
tablet pulls out from one end (see photo). Delicately carved open mouthed
lions face out at an angle from each corner. The front and back of the desk
are identical, with a center drawer, two side drawers on the right side, and
a cabinet on the left. The drawer fronts have carved fronts with lion head
pulls. The sides have an intricately carved panel. Desks of this style are
generally attributed to Horner. We have had this model several times but
most don't have the carved ends panels - a very attractive feature - like
this one. There are wings on the sides of each of the legs. The desks rest
on large carved claw feet. This is a classic desk made by Horner in the
fine original condition that collectors covet!

Finish: Good original finish with dark rich patina - notice the fine grain
in the top.
